About the Course
The ocean is filled with fascinating animals. Some actually have similarities to us. Dolphins are very smart and social animals. Dolphins are extraordinarily intelligent animals, have several highly developed forms of communication, and are extremely playful and curious animals? Dolphins sleep by resting one side of the brain at a time and can jump as high as 20 feet out of the water!
In this class, students will learn about dolphins. The students will lead a discussion of what they know about dolphins. We will then explore different types of dolphins. We will find out what these very different dolphins have in common and we will also find out how they are very different. They will compare and contrast their similarities and differences. Dolphins are some of the smartest and most social mammals. As a class we will explore their eating habits, habitats, behaviors, and more. We will create a jumping dolphin art project together at the end of class. My goal is for every student to thrive, be successful, and have fun while learning!
