About the Course
Insect or not an insect? Even though their name is pill bug and they have a buglike appearance, they’re not insects at all; they are actually terrestrial crustaceans. Roly poly, pill bug, or an armadillo bug is a fascinating little creature. There is something so intriguing about finding a little animal that rolls into a tiny ball. Do you also know that if you ever see a pill bug die, you'll notice that they bleed blue.
In this class, Students will learn what is so amazing about these roly poly bugs. Students will also learn why are they named roly poly, and why do they roll up into a tight ball.
Lastly, Students will learn do the roly poly help with the garden, are they considered as a bug, how do they protect their babies, where do they live, how do they protect our environment.
Through pictures, videos, a drawing, and activates the students will explore the amazing world of roly polies. During this fun class the students will learn about a roly poly's characteristics, classification, behavior, and importance to the environment. I have been teaching in a variety of settings including teaching in public schools, private schools, one on one tutoring, teaching online, and being a camp counselor.
