It allows game developers to build, control, and deploy games on different platforms. In this course, we are going to learn how to develop 2D and 3D games with C# language in Unity. Students will learn certain topics in programming video games in 2D and 3D environments. Students will also be exposed to some core mathematical concepts including how to work with 2D and 3D coordinate systems. The classes are entirely project-based where students learn and practice game development skills as they build their own fun games.

Roblox Game Developer - Escape Room

Do you know there are over 40 million games in Roblox? Do you know you can become a game developer in Roblox? In this fun and engaging course, students will learn the user interface of Roblox studios such as tabs, windows, actions, and plugins. They will learn how to playtest their game, spawn points, create and modify appearances, and add teams. We will guide them to create scripts for killing blocks, rotating objects, power-up blocks, teleporters, moving blocks. They will also learn how to create loading screens, pause menu, InGame menu, and name tags for players. In the end, students will complete the course with a well-planned and functioned escape room game in Roblox. They will publish their games and have other friends play together!

They will first explore the six types of simple machines and then go on to discuss complex machines. Students’ curiosity and creativity will be enriched as they explore real-life applications of machinery and even create their own homemade machine to solve daily life inconveniences! The class will include all types of interactive and fun activities, allowing each student to stretch their imagination and foster cognitive growth.

Is your child always telling stories? ​​What is it about stories that makes them so universally attractive? In this course, each student will learn to create their own storybook using StoryJumper. We will guide students to learn essential elements of stories including plot, theme, settings, characters, conflicts, and resolutions. Students will learn the ins and outs of StoryJumper, an online tool for making digital books, from inserting images to adding audio. They will be directed to brainstorm and outline their own storyboard using StoryJumper. Based on the storyboard, students will start creating their stories with a beginning, middle, and ending. At the end of the class, students will have their storybook created and they will share it with their friends to read together!

Students will also learn different cooking skills with different appliances, like pots, pans, and ovens. And hands-on experiments with various creative cooking recipes from beginner to advanced. We will take them through the entire process of preparing a meal, from obtaining ingredients to cooking and presenting it on the table. At the end of each module, students will make their own creative meals at different levels!

In this class, students will learn the importance of interviews, different types of interviews, and roles of interviews as interviewers and interviewees. They will be introduced to 4 creative specialists working in different fields. We will guide students in research, develop appropriate and interesting interview questions, and understand the proper interview etiquette. We will invite the creative specialists to the class for the students to practice their interview skills. Also, students will have the opportunities to analyze the work of young journalists around the world, and real-life applications of the skills learned in class. In the end, students will upload and publish their interview recordings to a Podcast as a podcaster!
