About The Course

Does your child want to be ahead of the digital natives? Do they want to create amazing digital slides for their school projects? Now they will be able to make fascinating projects with Canva - a powerful and trendy graphic design platform with a simple interface! Canva presentation is a dynamic design tool, allowing students to create visually stunning designs for any subject or age level. Canva is user-friendly and a great way for students to learn the basics of design to create fantastic content that they are excited about.

During the course, students will develop creative thinking and communication skills, improve creativity and innovation, and build their technology skills. They will lead class discussions, engage in fun multimedia games, explore various designing elements in Canva, and create a final project-digital presentation.

We will first brainstorm with the students about their past experiences with digital presentations. We will discuss the benefits and purposes of using digital presentations in real-life contexts. Through a live polls activity, the students will actively participate in the discussions and contribute their own ideas to the learning community. We will have students brainstorm together to discover the cool things that can be done with digital presentation tools. The students will be impressed with the wide functions that they are going to experience. Furthermore, the students will be visually engaging in comparing and contrasting various slides to further differentiate the good presentations from the bad presentations, contributing them to thinking critically about the tips or tricks of making better presentations. After the learning process, students will put their imaginative ideas into reality to showcase their knowledge through drawing. Drawing encourages your child to solve problems creatively. Therefore, the discussions, activities, lectures, and games allow the students to lay a solid foundation for their digital presentation design process.

Secondly, students will get familiar with popular software to make slides, as well as compare and contrast the different features available from each software. They will learn to create interactive live videos to present ideas. Giving children exposure to communicative tools such as recording tools will help them improve communicative skills, allow the children the freedom of experimenting with their own imaginative growth, and even explore the potential for becoming a Youtuber someday. Moreover, the students will focus on learning Canva, the main designing tech tool for this course. They will learn that Canva has various target audiences and Canva's users can choose from thousands of design layouts for any project, including presentations, social media videos, posters, flyers, invitations, and more. These fun and interactive classes will equip students with more knowledge of distinct features among different tools for their future reference.

Now that we have the ball rolling! We will guide students to learn the many exciting features, such as a wide range of fonts, sizes, frames, and photos in Canva, before learning about integrating multimedia tools into the Canva presentation. Some multimedia tools we will explore are videos, music, and social media. The students will be both visually and physically engaged in the learning process. They will be encouraged and guided to create different projects based on each element they learned in classes, from creating names in different texts and frames to adding multimedia elements to spice up their contents. After creating each project, they will showcase their own work and present it to the class to get feedback from their teacher and peers. In these practical and hands-on activities, students will enhance their skillsets and become well-prepared for the final projects.

For our final project, students will create a self- profile presentation. They will combine the separated elements they learned during the classes into an organized, comprehensive digital presentation. By integrating visual design projects into the lesson, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge. Canva is very user-friendly and after completing this course the students will be able to expand their creativity digitally.
